In chapter five under “What’s the Big Deal” it mentions purposeful reading and rereading information three times. This is what I will be doing a lot of for this weeks work. I plan on reading through all of my research and finding out what has purpose and what its purpose is. I have done this with most of my sources up until this point but not all of them. This will help me state the purpose and ideas for each resource for easy reference later. This will be useful for future projects for the same reason. The information in chapter five under “Annotated Sources” I found very helpful. I needed a better understanding of annotated sources and how to do them properly. I like how this section outlines what considerations are needed. I found these keywords useful; claim, reason, and evidence. This section will be very useful as I approach wp#2 I will be able to go back and revise my current annotations. I feel a lot more confident with the works of annotations for future projects. In chapter five under “Taking Detailed Notes on a Source” I found this information to be very helpful. This section will really pull together all the information learned throughout this chapter. It will be helpful to get in practice to do this for future projects. In chapter six it talks about opinions, bias, and evidence. The beginning of this week I was doing just that checking over my sources for credibility to figure out which ones I wanted to keep based on these three terms as well as checking credentials. The interesting thing I found even some reporters with good credentials will publish information based on their opinions and not facts. Some information is hard to determine whether it should be useful or not I believe these exercises will be useful in determining this. I found the checklist for avoiding plagiarism very useful. In fact I created a word document including this information with some additional notes for future reference. I was always a little unclear on all the rules involving this topic. The checklist I have created in a word document I will keep in a file for future reference. I have actually created a file to keep different information I have learned so far in this class it has definitely offered me that.
